Overview

The EOTC educates its members to recognize the Holy Trinity as the one true God, to understand God’s character, and to live in holiness while honouring God’s chosen saints. To reach members and advance its spiritual mission, the church has been utilizing Sunday School as one of its main teaching institutions. The dedication and hard work put into structuring Sunday Schools in the church has transformed these institutions into nurturing environments that foster intentional and responsible young individuals. Due to the increasing rate of youth unemployment and the rising cost of living in Ethiopia, young Sunday School servants have become among the most vulnerable and affected group in the country. In order to make ends meet, some members have even fallen into despair and went astray from church service. To tackle this dire current situation working collaboratively is mandatory. The Gebre-heir Project was established by few concerned Sunday School members of the EOTC church who came together voluntarily to create a project with the goal of “boosting the economic capacity of Orthodox Sunday School youth servants”.

What we do

Our project nurtures Sunday school servants, fostering their professional and personal growth through comprehensive resources, training, and mentorship

Mass
Training

We developed this program to offer group training sessions that focus on Orthodox mindset, work culture, and professional development for a select group of Sunday School youth servants. Our main goal is to establish a solid basis for future training and initiatives that will benefit these individuals

Vocational skills training

We developed this program to provide professional skills training customized to the individual career interests of each beneficiary. The training spans between three to six months and equips our select group of youth with industry-sought and applicable professional skills

Seed Funding

This program will support youth servants of the church who demonstrate entrepreneurial skills, opportunities, and dedication but lack the appropriate amount of funding to bring their idea to life

Digital Business Network

This program focuses on creating a digital business network for EOTC members. This will be done by creating an active online database that records members’ business activities and sparks business relationships between individuals/institutions

Our numbers that speak

We have numbers that push us to give in our best and make sure that we break our own records. We are happy to be growing and helping more day by day.

Moreover, 11 youth servants have been provided with startup funding and support to bring their business ideas to life.

Upcoming Event

We have a Fund raising event on July 21 2023 on which over 500 guests are expected. Distinguished individuals and organizations that share our prospect will be our primary guests. The event will be held at kenenisa Hotel from 7:00 pm to 9:00pm.
